Betty Wiley is a fine art and free-lance photographer who currently resides in Massachusetts on Cape Cod in the beautiful, little town of Yarmouth Port. Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, she moved to Massachusetts nearly 30 years ago and bought a home on the Cape in Yarmouth Port with her husband in 2006. She quickly fell in love with the natural beauty of the area and spent practically every spare minute exploring the Cape with her camera. With her yellow labrador retriever, Bailey, at her side, she often leaves her home before dawn hoping to find beautiful light and interesting subjects to photograph. She believes that good light is often key to a successful photograph and as a result, she rarely goes out to shoot in the middle of the day when the light is harsh and instead, she spends that time scouting for new locations. Often, storms that move through the area create dramatic light and beautiful clouds and as a result, she usually grabs her camera and hops in her car as the skies begin to clear. Betty photographs throughout New England and the northeast. In addition, she is also a skilled nature photographer and photographs birds and wildlife whenever she has a chance.
Betty leads photography and post-processing workshops on the South Shore and Cape Cod. Her images frequently appear in a various publications including Cape Cod magazine, Chatham magazine and South Shore Living to name a few and she has a number of magazine covers to her credit. Betty travels extensively. For more of her work, please visit her website at www.bettywileyphotography.com
